Enhancing the quality of life for those afflicted with
Alzheimer's Disease or Dementia

Testimonials
"Being in the medical field and treating the elderly is a difficult job especially patients with Alzheimer's Dementia." "She spent time at a Geriatric Psych hospital in Pittsburgh, and was taken care of by a group of geriatric psychiatrists who were very knowledgeable in treating the elderly with dementia. This placement was only after having my mother go in and out of three hospitals and about four nursing homes / Alzheimer's facilities."
"We recently had her placed at a new facility, Walnut Ridge Memory Care where the care she is getting has been exemplary. The owners are particularly educated in the needs and problems of people with Alzheimer's. This is a new facility but so far they seem to understand Alzheimer's better than any care facility we have experienced."
"Exploring Alzheimer's facilities for my mother educated and enlightened me to the fact that we are dealing with a great shortage of professionals and facilities in our area."
…..Walnut Ridge Memory Care is a facility in our area that can take care of this type of patient."

Dear Administration and Staff,

We would like to thank all of you, for the wonderful job you do for all the patients at Walnut Ridge. Believe me, we know it is not an easy job and you do not always get the thanks you deserve. Not just this holiday season but all year round my family like to thank you for all that you do, from keeping the home clean, washing the clothes, preparing the food, doing their hair, making sure they get the correct medicines your courteous and pleasant smiles when we walk in the door, we thank you for all of this.
If there is anything that we need to do as a family to make your day easier please don't hesitate to ask. The job you all do is a tremendous gift to all of the families you touch. Our loved ones are safe and we can go away feeling they are in caring and loving environment.
Sometimes I think the worst thing to deal with would be the loss of control over our lives or our bodies and this is what all of the residents at Walnut Ridge are experiencing. Some of them are at different stages in this loss, but never-the-less it is a loss of ones lives as they knew it.
Your ability, in your job, of making them feel as if they are apart of a new family and easing some of this loss is such a great gift. We hope you never feel this job is to much of a burden only that you feel good that you are giving hope to people who are losing hope, you are making them smile, when they don't know what to smile about any more, you are singing songs with them that brightens their day, so they can remember life as it used to be, you are helping them walk, you are feeding them and giving them the energy to go another day. They are children again in the slow process of dieing with nothing left to look forward to but maybe that next meal or the touch of a kind hand. Your job is hard but we thank you for everything you have done for my mom and all the people you touch.
Please have a safe and Happy Holiday Season and New Year!

Esther Henry, Sally Baker, Nancy & Ed Gum
